Makkah Province – The Holiest Place in Islam

Among one of the thirteen administrative regions of the Kingdom, Makkah is one of the most populous and significant provinces which stretches to Aseer and Al Bahah regions in the south along 700+ km long Red Sea Coast in the west, Riyadh in the east and Al Madinah in the north.

The capital, also known as Makkah is the birthplace of Prophet Muhammed Peace be upon Him and Islam, the heart of Islamic world and the most sacred place in the world being home to the Kaaba. Being surrounded by the mountains, it represents the spirit of old civilizations which commenced from here. It can also be called a city of truly diverse culture brought by millions of pilgrims round the globe.

Makkah is not only famous for its diversity in the culture but for the diversity in the geography and the climate as well.

From the crystal clear waters and mesmerizing coral reefs of Red Sea and typical extreme temperatures and sand dunes along the west coasts to the highest peaks of the Sarawat Mountains with colder temperature, steep cliffs, scenic beauty and astonishing views of Tihama Valleys among which Al Hada, Taif, Ash Shafa and Jabal Al Hadab are the most famous ones. Lies in the Hijaz Region in the eastern side, Hafir Kishb basalt plateau in Makkah Province hosts several volcanic peaks and craters among which Wahbah Crater is the most famous one.
